Wycliffe Stutchbury’s show at Sarah Myerscough Gallery revels in the artist’s lifelong love for the English countryside.
Sarah Myerscough Gallery in London opens this week with Fall Line, an exhibition of large-scale panels and intricate sculptures by Wycliffe Stutchbury. The Sussex-based artist continues his work with fallen and forgotten timber, inspired by his lifelong love affair with the English countryside, where he grew up and lives to this day.
On the occasion of the exhibition, the gallery commissioned a text from The Design Edit Editor-in-Chief Emma Crichton-Miller, who wrote about the evolution of the artist’s passion for wood. Read on for an excerpt from Crichton-Miller’s essay.
